Butterfly tattoos enjoy a massive popularity

One of the most wanted tattoo designs is the butterfly tattoo. It speaks to people who want to mark a significant change in their lives. It's not surprising since a butterfly tattoo usually stands for a new beginning or a fresh start.

What butterflies mean to other cultures

Over the years, butterflies have had a great historical significance for people. The Greeks believe that a human soul is born every time a butterfly comes out from its cocoon. The Irish, on the other hand, believe that butterflies stand for the dead souls waiting to meet their maker. The Japanese say that one butterfly represents a young woman while two butterflies symbolize marital bliss. Many of the extraordinary kimonos worn by geishas have butterflies on them. The Native American tribes also have strong beliefs about butterflies. The Blackfoot tribe believes that butterflies bring dreams, while the Zuni tribe thinks that a white butterfly predicts the beginning of summer.

Recommended areas for a butterfly tattoo

Women tend to choose butterfly designs because they can be placed on every part of the body. If you want people to see your tattoo then a visible place, like arm, upper back or ankle will be best.

A small butterfly tattoo would be great if you don't want your tattoo to be big or manly. A recommended body part is the foot or the arm. A small tattoo can also fit well on the shoulder, ankle and even on the ribs.

Lower back tattoos are the most common for women. This is one of the most sexual and sensual areas on a woman, making it the ideal spot for a large tattoo. Tribal designs and butterflies are the most popular, although flowers, dragonflies, and other symbols make great tattoos as well. The lower back offers plenty of natural curves, and a big tattoo can fit really well in that area. If you want to feel sexy and attractive then a lower back tattoo is just what you've been looking for.

Lots of species - endless designs

Lots of people can relate to the butterfly tattoo and what it represents. It is no wonder, because so many people have probably gone through a difficult time in their lives and can relate to the beauty of the metamorphosis into a more beautiful life.

There are big bold butterflies, Japanese butterfly tattoos, Celtic butterfly tattoos and small delicate butterfly tattoos. The designs can be either very real or amorphous. They can be colorful, they can be black. They can come in a shape like a star, flower or fairy, and there are abstract tribal tattoos or very detailed butterflies tattoos.

Uniqueness - I want to stand out

You can express yourself however you like and create your own look, and that's the best thing about tattoos. It can be little or huge, colorful or black.

When you're choosing a tattoo, think about what it represents, what statement you are making, or what it is saying about you. A butterfly tattoo is best to describe a major progress or change someone has gone through.

Imagine how good you would feel after getting the tattoo you've always wanted. Everyone you know will be so surprised and you'll feel amazingly good about yourself.

Butterflies were a very religious symbol in the Celtic Society. They believed that each butterfly had its own soul. The belief was that in order for it to be reborn, it had to conceal itself in the food or drink of a woman, and after the woman consumed her meal the butterfly would impregnate her and soon be reborn as a human.

The Celts believed that butterflies were fairies, and that they brought abundance and good fortune, as well as growth and change. This would be one of the reasons why the Celtic Knot butterfly tattoo is so popular. They also represented the transformation, the rebirth, and the renewal of life.

The Celts didn't keep many ancient records, but stories were passed from one generation to the next. They often tattooed themselves with beautiful Celtic tattoo designs of their favorite symbols of life. Even today Celts use the Celtic Knot butterfly tattoo to acknowledge their heritage.

Many of the Celtic tattoo designs were decorated with beautiful colors and Celtic knots (also a symbol of never ending changes), and have become so popular that many people of all ages are beginning to have Celtic Knot Butterfly tattoo put on their bodies. Women favor the butterfly tattoo because of its free spirit, and transformation from one life cycle to another, thus going from birth through puberty to adulthood. Men are beginning to use the butterfly tattoo as well, just not as much as women.

Celtic knot Butterfly tattoo can be found on many different parts of the body, and many women place them as lower back tattoos, as well as their navel. They also like them placed on their ankles and shoulder blades. Men usually place them as armband tattoos, both upper and lower.

There have been many different and beautiful Celtic knot Butterfly tattoo designs over the years. Some of them are a butterfly Tattoo full of colors with Celtic Knots surrounding it, others are just a Celtic Knot butterfly tattoo, and one of my favorites is the beautiful Celtic Butterfly Tattoo transforming into a beautiful winged fairy.

Weather you are of Celtic descent or if you just like the beautiful Celtic Butterflies and Celtic Knots there is a tattoo design out there that I assure you will fall in love with, and make you proud to show it off.

Butterfly tattoo art are among the most versatile and flexible of all tattoo designs in terms of all aspects, be it butterfly tattoos on back, color, placement or size so it,s no wonder they are popular. Real Butterfly tattoos are popular for a number of reasons, the most obvious one is the beauty and transformation associated with butterflies in general, they are amazing creatures that are found in ancient Greek mythology and other ancient civilizations.

Butterfly tattoo art has been one of the most popular tattoo designs requested by females for the past few years, though Arnold Schwarzenegger does have one on his right butt-cheek, (a butterfly tattoo being crushed by a terminator moth from the future). Butterflies can symbolize various things depending on which culture. In Ireland, butterflies also symbolize dead souls waiting to enter into purgatory.

Among the best things about butterfly tattoo art is that they have the ability to aesthetically add a lot of color into your tattoo design, without the loudness that is occasionally related with color tattoo art. The primary reason for the popularity of lower back tattoos of butterflies is due to the multiple colors in the wings, which creates a seductive charm. They are sort of rectangular in shape and can therefore make ideal and popular tattoo places for many women.

There are free tattoo designs on the net, which are good for getting ideas, just be aware - some of this tattoo art is of low quality as a lot of people have already used them, there is nothing worse than having the same designs as someone else, tattoos designs are about being unique. Another option is to check out the paid online tattoo art galleries that provide you with thousands of top quality tattoos to choose from. In fact based on the search volume of keywords butterfly tattoo art are right up in the top most requested designs for women along with real butterfly tattoos.

Looking For Totally Awesome Butterfly Tattoo Designs?

Looking For Totally Awesome Butterfly Tattoo Designs?

Tattoos are becoming more and more popular throughout the world, and even more so in the United States and Europe. The hottest celebrities are now seen sporting the latest and trendiest tattoos. In fact, the trend seems to be toward more tattoos, not fewer.

There are countless types of tattoos, and there is no need to fret when trying to decide on the best design for you. Among the most popular modern designs are the butterfly tattoo designs, dragons, tribal patterns, crosses, henna instead of ink, and other designs related to religion - there is a nearly endless supply of potential designs.

Butterflies have been in vogue for a very long time. The beautiful butterfly has adorned all manner of purses, clothes, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and many other things. The key to making you stand out among the crowd is the bright colors that butterfly designs feature. Tattoos of butterflies take advantage of this large color palette in order to create eye-popping designs. However, there are so many butterfly tattoo designs to choose from that you may find yourself confused.

Several of the most popular butterfly designs include tribal-style, fairy, and even Irish-Celtic designs that are often seen on the small of the back. The tribal-style butterfly designs derive from the art of many tribes from all over the world. Some of this art comes from the British Isles, especially Ireland and also Scotland and can come from places as remote as Borneo. The butterfly has long been associated in the popular mind with the fairy.

Often, representations of fairies include wings that resemble those of the butterfly; the opposite is also often true. This beautiful insect can also be thought to stand as a representative of variegated nature herself. Therefore, such butterfly tattoo designs are very popular among contemporary men and women. Butterfly tattoo designs are especially dear to women. Among females, butterfly tattoo designs tend to be the most popular. They appear in a large variety of styles from simple two-color designs to those featuring many colors.

Typically, such tattoos are found on either the shoulder or the arm; this is the same regardless of whether or not the tattoo will be permanent. Some more outgoing and brave people even have butterflies tattooed above the foot or just below the back of the head where the procedure can be very painful.

Butterfly tattoos act, for many people, as a creative outlet wherein the shapes and colors are a method of self-expression. Butterfly tattoo designs form a portion of the marriage between nature, fashion, and artistic expression. Butterflies are commonly used by popular and successful artists as an important design element. From temporary stickers to long-lasting ink tattoos and other forms of body art, tattoo artists enjoy experimenting with the shapes and hues of butterflies.

Temporary tattoos and body art will only last for a limited number of days; some can be removed using paint thinner, and others require only soapy water. Body art is very temporary, and because of this there is more potential for variety in the design.

PERSONAL GROWTH

Due to the developmental existence of the butterfly, lots of people choose to have a lower back butterfly tattoo to emphasize their own personal growth. Maybe they have begun a new chapter in their life; maybe they want to show that they’re stronger than they were before. The butterfly symbolizes the ability to bounce back.

GRACE

There is no escaping the grace of the butterfly. Its flight is graceful and its markings are beautiful. It is therefore judged by most as the epitome of beauty and grace; a prime symbol of femininity.

STRENGTH

Despite the beauty and delicate nature of the butterfly, it’s able to fly thousands of miles to warmer climates and possibly have an effect on the whole environment (the butterfly effect). Having a butterfly tattoo demonstrates your personal strength and resilience.

ENDLESS OPTIONS!

Deciding which lower back butterfly tattoo to be tattooed with, the options are pretty endless! This is overwhelming, but bear in mind that your tattoo has to be the tattoo you adore.

ALONE OR WITH FRIENDS?

First up, it is a good idea to determine whether you want to have the butterfly on its own or with some other elements.

Many women decide to just include the image of the butterfly because they feel it is a clearer statement of creativity. Nevertheless, you may want to consider incorporating the butterfly with a chrysalis to accentuate the developmental element of butterflies.

A few folks have come up with very intricate designs where the main butterfly is constituted by many little butterflies.

In addition, you could combine the butterfly with bits of its normal living environment; plants, pollen and sunshine are all excellent inclusion that are suited to a butterfly tattoo, and which also emphasize the curvy nature and feminine nature of your lower back.

SIZE?

Next, you will have to decide on how wide you want the butterfly.

Being tattooed with a smaller version would demonstrate its elegance, but having a large butterfly will demonstrate its strength. It’s your choice, but keep in mind that you’ll have this tattoo for life (or until you have it expensively and painfully taken off by laser surgery!).

COLORS?

The last choice you will be required to make is whether the tattoo should be black. There are two schools of thought on the use of color in tattoos.

The first states that colors lessen the absolute beauty of a tattoo.

The other is that colors increase the intricacy and beauty. It is up to determine for yourself which you agree with.

Obviously, butterflies provide a wide choice of colors from which to choose however if you would prefer to include colors that no known species has, that’s totally your choice and will ensure your inking is as perfect for you as possible.

Related with this is the choice of how bright you want the tattoo to be. For many, feint tattoos emphasize femininity and poise.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

Mess about with some drawings and then decide what you prefer.

Celtic Cross Tattoos - Let Your Skin Tell This Ancient Story

Celtic Cross Tattoos - Let Your Skin Tell This Ancient Story

Author: Joel Carr

Celtic cross tattoos are the great reflection of deep belief and faith in God. If you want to convey some spiritual meaning, then the Celtic cross is the most fashionable way nowadays. Obviously the cross is the original symbol of God's love for mankind

Many people believe that Celtic cross tattoos signify Christianity. However, the pagans have deep beliefs related with the cross symbol. For them, the cross is a symbol for fertility. It is also true that some others see the four points in the cross as representation of the four seasons, while others link them to four powerful elements that include Earth, Fire, Air and water. Celtic cross tattoos are admired by almost all tattoo enthusiasts regardless of any beliefs.

Certain groups of people thinks that Celtic cross tattoos refer to the permanence in life. They believe that the circle around the cross symbolizes life after death and they will commonly ink the designs to convey the love of God symbolizing the sheer sacrifice of the cross.

Quite often, Celtic cross tattoos include intricate knotworks that have neither beginning nor end. These knotworks are difficult to design and therefore require a talented tattoo artist. Though most of the designs are complicated with unending strands, some simple designs like single looped knots are also available. You can select either simple designs or complicated ones, but either way, the knots still look amazing.

Celtic cross tattoos complimented with a wheel or circle look awesome and many tattoo lovers choose to ink these more modern designs. The cross with wheels typically carries the most ornate symbol of Christianity. Before choosing a tattoo design, it is therefore worthwhile to choose the corresponding symbol to what you are trying to represent or express.

Celtic cross tattoos with triquetras are designed completely with knotworks. In fact, triquetras are one of the most wonderful designs in Celtic art. When combined with cross symbol, they offer fabulous looking artwork. The three points in triquetras stand for Father, son and Holy Spirit.

The most enticing feature of Celtic cross tattoos is the adaptability. You can reduce or enhance the size, allowing you to therefore wear a cross design anywhere on the body; anywhere from small ankle tattoos to full back pieces. The internet has ample amounts of Celtic cross tattoo designs. It is therefore easy to choose the perfect one as per your wish.

You can also join huge online galleries by paying a small up-front amount. This allows you to view thousands of tattoo designs, amongst these there are a considerable amount of Celtic cross tattoo designs. There are some combinational designs like cross with flowers, hearts, Jesus, Sun and moon. You can even design your own tattoo with the guidance of professionals. Be sure to check these sites out.

Generally, Celtic cross tattoos are designed in black and gray colors. Some parlors offer bright colors like red, blue, purple, violet etc to make the design awesome. It is worth to prefer a Celtic cross design in black backdrop with purple or blue color in the center, after looking at thousands of Celtic tattoo designs, the black backdrop always catches my eye.

Only a talented tattoo artist can design a Celtic Cross Tattoo, it is essential to spend some time selecting a great artist. It is also vital to assure the cleanliness in the tattoo parlor. Safety and hygiene enhances the pleasure of tattoo experience.
